White Cliffs and Badlands of the Upper Missouri River

7 days / 6 nights

The premier trip!

Itinerary #1

3 nights in White Cliffs and 3 nights in Badlands

Enjoy a more relaxed pace at the beginning. Most will agree the first few days are the most difficult - adjusting to river life, camping and the pace. With this option, we enjoy the White Cliffs and the many hiking opportunities with plenty of time to adjust and settle in.

2024 Available Dates:

June 19-25
July 8-14

August 13-19

Itinerary #2

2 nights in White Cliffs and 4 nights in Badlands

Enjoy a highly coveted layover day in the Badlands. On this day, we do not pack up camp, but rather stay at the same campsite two nights. Spread out, unpack and enjoy and whole day with the option for a long hike to Clark’s Viewpoint, where he thought he first spotted the Rocky Mountains.

Trip Details

Float the famous Upper Missouri River White Cliffs AND the less-traveled and wilder Badlands. The White Cliffs are magnificent, but we promise, it only gets better. The most popular and immersive option—this canoeing adventure is absolutely the trip of a lifetime! Enjoy the immeasurable benefits of being very far from noise, lights, technology and crowds for an extended period of time. Most river folks will claim one can’t properly immerse into the ‘flow of things’ until day 2 or 3, at which time after, the real magic begins.

Distance:
107 miles, River mile 46-149

Difficulty level:
Appropriate for all ages 4+
This trip is certainly an adventure. However, the Upper Missouri is a flat water river with no rapids. Plus, we are there to help!
